vintage flight attendant outfits for party

An amazing event can take you on a journey.  When designing a party you want your guests to get lost in the theme, charity, or person that's being honored.  This weekend guests were surprised when they entered The National Cowboy Western & Heritage Museum and couldn't see the famous End of the Trail statue which normally greets them.  Instead they were greeted with the chance to take a trip on Variety Airlines.  They might not have known where they were off to but they knew it was going to be an adventure!

  • Runway to Tabletop ~ Vintage Summer

Going into summer, everything becomes a little lighter.  You'll begin to wear more white and paler colored fabrics. At home, you might put away that furry throw and replace it with a gauzy one.  Little changes like this bring on the airy feeling of summer.  Fashion embraces this new season with floral patterns, the use of linen, and long flowing dresses.  Alexander McQueen incorporated a breezy almost flower child feel to their 2014 resort collection.  The clothing had touches of crochet, macramé, and textured florals.

For a past event, we embraced details similar to those of McQueen.  We used vintage crochet doilies, along with birdcages, and floral details for summery centerpieces.  The tables were covered with a natural shade of linen along with contrasting light pink to give the room some color.  My favorite unique touch had to be the lace drapes that lined several antique windowpanes.
