Now that Design Appetit has come and gone we’re excited to finally share all of its delicious details! Inspired by the charismatic stars of the Rock Revolution, our design vignette featured a mix of Metallica, up-tempo melodies and luxe furnishings. Set beneath an rockin’ trussing structure, Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven,” orchestrated entirely in floral elements, acted as a frame for an iconic table influenced with golden strikes of heavy metal.
All of this madness was anchored with our grand bookend-like Rock N' Roll Throne seats. A show that was perfectly balanced for the Kings of Rock...
The luxurious textures and reflective elements, glowing from the luminous concert lighting above, and paid tribute to an rock artist’s creative extravagance, explosive passions and unforgettable presentations. In an ode to instrumental treasures, a display of original autographed guitars (from rockers such as Paul Stanley of KISS and Zakk Wylde of Ozzy Osbourne) took center stage alongside a one-of-a-kind red baby grand piano, featuring the gilded signature of the Rocket Man himself, Sir Elton John.
Burst of color from a regal color palette purples and reds, along with mixed metals of the place settings and flatware sen reverberations throughout the scene! Chair covers with famous faces like Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Cher and Justin Timberlake adorned our metal chameleon chairs. Amid this rockin' and rollin' splendor, dinner guests enjoyed viewing album covers like Abbey Road that served as their menus.
For the first night of the Divine Dining Gala, guests were treated to a dining experience from chef Kelsey Majors. They dined on arugula salad and watermelon with fresh herbed goat feta, followed by red wine braised short ribs over white cheddar grits with bacon-seared brussel sprouts and jalapeño cornbread. Topping the meal was a dessert of nectarine crumble with oatmeal almond crust and white chocolate ganache. And, the literal cherry on top were Godiva Chocolate Covered Cherries! Accompanying this delectable meal were wine by rockers-turned-wine makers, Sting and Dave Matthews.
After two days of viewings, the event came to a close with a cocktail party on Saturday night. It was such a fun evening in which our team got together to party and later CELEBRATE winning Best Design of the event! We want to thank everyone who participated and voted and also say cheers to the real winner, Focus on Home, who went home with plenty of donations to spread around our community.
