  • Runway to Tabletop ~ Pretty Pastels‏

Pastels are an unstoppable trend.  Every spring I find myself wanting to include mint green, light blue, and colorful coral into my wardrobe.  Back in 2012, Louis Vuitton created one of my all time favorite shows.  It was an unforgettable springtime candy colored extravaganza!   What I remember most was the bright lemon yellow skirts, robin's egg blue tulle, tiny touches of pink, and ladylike lace details on almost every garment.

For a recent ladies luncheon, we couldn't wait to decorate with pastels that were reminiscent of the Vuitton show.  We draped the tables with our classic colorful linens and alternated with feminine watercolor brushstroke linens.  In keeping with the spring theme, we staged beautiful orchid blooms as the centerpiece of each table in the historical First National Center.  To finish off this pastel palette, we complemented the room with a white sequin paillette backdrop for a touch of sparkle...

... because after all, who doesn't love a little sparkle?

  • Runway to Tabletop ~ Sequins and Lace

Every bride wants to feel like a queen on her special day.  Fashion designer Oscar de la Renta became famous dressing America's queen, Jacqueline Kennedy, in the 1960s.  His most recent bridal collection exhibits his time-honored classic aesthetic along with a stunning mix of sequins and lace.

For a past wedding we took beautiful fabrics, similar to Oscar's lace and sequins, and entwined them as part of the event.  Touches of these luxurious linens were found on the seating, over the tables, and even on the wedding cake.  The event space was romantically dimmed but highlighted with rosy pink and ivy patterned lighting.  The combinations of lace, sequins, and pink made for an enchanting and fanciful display.

When planning your wedding remember that trends may come and go but the classics always stay classic.

  • Runway to Tabletop ~ Silver Accents‏

We're never one to shy away from shimmering details. Our style, along with fashion house Balmain, favors ornate detailing and a sparkling, glitzy aesthetic. One of my favorite runway shows that displayed this fun and flashy design is from their fall 2011 collection.

During one of our past events, we covered the stage with silvery mirrored details that lit up with every beam of light. The tablescapes glistened with a mix of sequins and swirling patterned linens. Warm purple andfuchsia florals added the perfect contrast against the coolness of the silver tabletops. This sterling display was definitely loved by all.

With metallic embellishments beingau courantadd some silver accents to your next outfit. And if you're planning an upcoming event, we'll show you how to sparkle.

    Rachel Zoe knows sequins.

Her sense of style has always been a source of inspiration around our office. One thing we share with the designer/stylist is alove of sparkles! If you have ever watchedThe Rachel Zoe Projectyou'll remember how vocal she was about her love of sequins. This obsession spilledover into her recent fall collection which was filled with not only fun but more importantly, WEARABLE sequined attire. I've been obsessing over this white sequined dress ever since I saw it in the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book. I bet you can guess what I'm wearing to the company party, can't you?

With the holiday's coming up, make sure to add some glitz to your next event. Try the glimmer of a sequined backdrop or a dazzling tablescape with sparkling linens.

However you can, take a cue from Ms. Zoe and add some panache to your holiday parties with a touch of sequins.
