We met with Morgan, Omar and the Byram family last August, and immediately fell in love with this fun and wonderful crew.  Morgan graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, and fashion and design play a huge roll in her life.  She is the definition of an ‘it girl,’ and we were honored to help make Morgan’s dream of modern elegance a reality.  Every detail and wish was pored over to ensure that the big day would be nothing short of spectacular.  After months of planning and preparation, the day finally came when the couple would say “I do.”

Morgan and Omar were married on August 1, 2015 at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. The pair arrived at the Club for a day of preparation with their wedding parties.  As the girls beautified, the boys relaxed and helped calm Omar’s nerves.  Before the ceremony, Omar and Morgan shared a special moment together.  The groom’s breath was taken away at the sight of his beautiful bride, and the couple shared personal notes with each other to prepare their hearts and minds for the special evening ahead of them.  Both the happy couple and their families were then treated to a private viewing of the ceremony and reception space prior to guests arrival, and were stunned by the design and vision produced by Eventures for their special day.  Some family members were even brought to tears by the beauty of the finished creation.

Four hundred and fifty guests were ushered down a secret hallway of chiffons taking them from the front of the Club to the ceremony tent on the back lawn.  They witnessed the couple’s union in a breathtaking, fully draped tent dripping in ethereal orchids and greenery created by The Fleuriste.  Wearing a truly stunning Jenny Packham Dress and with crystal bodice embellishments and a dramatic open back, Morgan walked down the white carpeted aisle with her father to the song “A Thousand Years.” With friends and family there to witness, they said their vows in front of a custom backdrop of white tufted velvet that ran the length of the tent. After sealing their promise with a kiss, the celebration began.

Guests were welcomed back into the Country Club for cocktails, where Harry’s Bar was transformed with white carpet, floor to ceiling white draping and a towering life-sized tree with cascading branches and ribbons, each holding escort cards with gold calligraphy on Galax leaves.  “Oohs” and “ahhs” were heard as guests continued to venture into the Great Hall where they were met with the sweet melody of a grand piano set in front of a dramatically draped stage.  Mirrored elements in the bars, stage and custom-built walls reflected from floor to ceiling, all architecturally designed and inspired by the Bride’s love for art and fashion.

After cocktails, guests spilled into the adjoining rooms for dinner.  The dining room was breathtakingly stunning.  Eventures elegantly transformed the Country Club with slate-gray velvet draping, while oversized 10’ golden frames featuring stylish floral sculptures lined the walls.  The head table was a massive 40’ long glass top table supported by dreamlike gold tree stumps.  Floating over the head table was a gravity defying floral design created with orchids and mixed greenery that truly wowed everyone who laid eyes on it.  Each of the guest tables glowed with shimmering candles, white silk linens and elegant groupings of white floral with mixed metal Chameleon Chairs.  Amy Cullifer with Amy Cakes created the six-tier wedding cake with gold and cream glistening spheres placed between the layers, and it sat upon a glass and gold tree stump table to reflect the incredible design of the head table.  The room had never looked like this before, and guests felt as though they had been transported to another venue for the special occasion.

After a fine dinner prepared by the Country Club’s professional chefs, the bride and her father amazed everyone with a secretly choreographed dance to “Brick House” which literally, brought the house down!  The party continued and the dance floor was packed as soon as The SoulSations took the stage, set beneath a crystal chandelier that glistened in front of volumes of white chiffons. Monogramed hats, glow sticks and sunglasses were distributed to the guests, a surprise everyone loved!  The amazing Brittany Stover Photography captured every incredible moment that evening and documented a night that the couple, their families and their guests would always remember.

Though no one wanted the night to end, it came time for the bride and groom to make their departure. Wearing huge smiles and hats adorned with the couple’s initial, they walked through a cloud of confetti and climbed into a vintage Rolls Royce convertible as guests waved goodbye.  It had been the perfect day, one that Morgan would ask her dad (half jokingly) if they could recreate all over again.

Emily and Matthew were married at All Souls Episcopal Church this January. These two are a perfect match and complement each other so well. Much like their personalities, the wedding day was a delicate balance of special details, creating a classic design that mirrored the couple’s style.

Understated elegance – that’s how I would describe the reception at Gaillardia Country Club. I was so inspired by Emily’s gorgeous lace wedding dress and its timeless sophistication; her classic taste spilled over into every aspect of the wedding day. Simple details like champagne linens and romantic lighting crafted an impactful setting. A custom designed stage nestled in the archway of the ballroom with plush white draping created the look of a proscenium. Guests danced the night away, and sent the beautiful couple off into the evening with a sparkler farewell.

It was a magical day, and I wish the happy couple so much happiness in the years ahead!

  • Engagements ~ How to work with a wedding stylist

A planner is not always a stylist – and vice versa.

I am a stylist who specializes in creative vision, production and logistics.  In other words, my objective is to develop your vision, create it and execute it.  I’m also happy to refer vendors to you, then turn around and manage these vendors throughout the wedding process.  I have played the role of both stylist and planner, though stylist is always my primary role.  Sometimes there may be tasks or errands I do not “specialize” in that my brides request.  I’m always happy to refer a planner or other merchant to fill in the blanks!

My advice – Take the time to figure out what planner/stylist scenario will work best for you and your wedding needs.

A bride can have both a planner and a stylist, and I believe in some cases she should!
