  • 10for10 Making a Difference Awards + Welcoming Venny

Recently, we partnered with the Institute for Economic Empowerment of Women and welcomed one of their members to our office.  IEEW is a charity that provides business training and mentorship programs for women entrepreneurs in Afghanistan and Rwanda.

Over this past summer we were lucky enough to have Venny join our team and work alongside her.  She's a successful business owner in Rwanda and plans many government events there, as well as weddings and social engagements.  We enjoyed looking at some of her amazing photos from past events in her home country.  It was wonderful to get to know Venny.  She has a calming presence, a beautiful smile – and is a woman after our own hearts who loves shopping!  Checking out the malls around the city was a particular highlight for her.

In July, Venny and Eventures helped with the 10for10 Making a Difference Awards event at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club.  Awards were given to 10 women who’ve made a difference in Oklahoma to mark IEEW’s 10th Year of Global Impact.  The students in town from Rwanda & Afghanistan joined to celebrate 10 amazing Oklahoma women, shop student handicrafts in the pop-up shop, and enjoy some tasty apps.

  • | Giving Back | YWCA Purple Sash Gala

Eventures is proud to work with many important charities in our community.  The YWCA is one of those and it's particularly close to our hearts.  The proceeds from their Annual Purple Sash Gala benefit YWCA programs to help victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.  This year they raised $230,000 for thousands of women, children, and men.  The YWCA is the only licensed shelter for victims of domestic violence in Oklahoma County and provides everything from shelter, counselors, support groups, job training, and Hospital Advocates.

This evening of elegance started with a silent auction and closed with a glamorous fashion show.  We loved being a part of such a stylish event that benefits this crucial cause!  To read more about the YWCA click here, and if you need assistance with your upcoming large scale event, you know who to call!
