  • Life's a beach in OKC

Did you hear?  Surfs up in Bricktown!

That's right, Oklahoma City now has its very own beach right in the middle of downtown OKC.  Bricktown Beach took over 123 tons of sand, along with the appropriate props needed to enjoy summertime by the sea.  Or, at least the closest we'll get to it here in the metro!

Speaking of props, we know a thing or two about how to create the ultimate beach party.  Our designers Whitney and Britney even went to Hawaii for research!  Well, it may have been more for fun than work, but they did bring back enough ideas to fill a million of our mood boards.  So this weekend when you're wondering what to do, check out our city's oceanfront venue and all the other festive options Downtown OKC has to offer.  If all that sand inspires you to throw your own party or convention, give us a call and we'll have you beach-dreaming in no time!

  • Couture & Culture | Warhol comes to OKC

"In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes."

    Andy Warhol

This common phrase was famously uttered by Warhol back in 1968.  Little did he know how correct he would be!  While many people regularly use this phrase few know who actually said it.

Andy loved celebrities and many of his famous pieces actually focused on them as subjects.  Come this April the Oklahoma City Musuem of Art will have the honor of hosting one of these works. Warhol: The Athletes features ten paintings of famous sports stars commissioned by collector Richard Weisman.  A few of these great athletes include Muhammad Ali, Dorothy Hamill, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Jack Nicklaus.

The exhibit opens Thursday, April 16th and ends July 12th at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art. Hope to see you there!
