  • | Tuesday Tips | Balance your Theme

When creating the perfect design it's all about balance.  Even when you have a great theme it's possible to push the idea too far.  The key is to add ambience without over taking the space.

When creating a rustic chic look like this one, we balanced the use of romantic elements with western touches.  The use of wooden tables and oversized seats had to be in proportion with lush florals and mood lighting.

Don't let your next event be overwhelmed by any one piece, give us a call and we'll make sure to keep your vision in harmony.

    It-Girl Tip: Unconventional Tablescapes

Currently we love an unconventional take on tables. Everyone’s seen the tried and true table and linen option, and while we boast some stunning selections in that category, our new obsession is gold and glass.

Meet our Sequoia Table. This beauty is beyond versatile. From a 40’ head table to an intimate dinner of eight, it’s the perfect mix of modern and organic design. We’ve recently used the table as a dessert buffet display, and it made a beyond gorgeous round cake table. No matter what the occasion, the glass and dreamlike gold tree trunks will have your guests gushing at your next soiree.

  • Looking back to help you plan ahead ~ Part 3

If I could go back in time… I would have chosen a bigger venue.

I had close to 350 guests at my wedding (maybe more.) it was important to my husband to invite everyone so that they could celebrate with us. I myself would have been fine with a smaller crowd, but it was a lot of fun to share such a special moment with so many. Our church was the perfect size, but the reception venue was a bit tight. Looking back, a bigger venue would have held everyone more comfortably. A wedding venue of that size in Oklahoma can be a little hard to find! It takes a some digging to find the right venue for your guest count. Search through every option and always, alwayslook into the venue’s maximum guest count. If you know you’ll be expecting more than the max…move on until you find the right fit. The extra time spent looking will be worth it in the end!

  • Looking back to help you plan ahead ~

I’ve always been told not to live with regrets.

As a wedding stylist where my job is to hand select and offer only the best to my brides, it’s hard not to look back at my own wedding and think of all the “should haves and could haves.”

However, I can also look back and think, "what would I have done differently for my wedding?"

Over the next couple weeks, I'll be sharing few thoughts that I hope may inspire you in your own planning journey.

To start, I wish I would have… chosen an all-white bouquet.

I loved the colors I chose for my wedding – yellow, coral, pink and vintage blue. If I could go back, however, I would have chosen to keep those colors in the reception décor and not in my bouquet. My wedding dress was my dream dress, and looking back at photos I think a white or cream bouquet would have enhanced the dress more. Just something to think about for your own upcoming wedding! A cream bouquet never goes out of style.
