On June 20 of 2015, Mark and Ivy were married at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens in the Fuller Garden. Blush floral baskets were hanging from the gazebo, a wonderful touch since Ivy’s accent color was pink. She walked down the aisle wearing a custom designed gown fit for a Princess. The bridesmaids stood by her side wearing vintage-inspired black and pink dresses. Soft music from a live harpist played and Father Marlin of All Souls Episcopal Church officiated the Christian ceremony.

After the ceremony, guests made their way to the reception at The Fort Worth Club. Ivy’s mother surprised her with a Rose’ Champagne Tower during Cocktail Hour. Specialty Décor and Lighting was brought in to enhance the already beautiful detailing of the Club. When doors opened to the Horizon room for dinner, guests enjoyed the splendor of gorgeous ivy and candelabra centerpieces. Ivy was also suspended from the chandeliers to create a truly magical effect.

After dinner, the Think Big Party Band played a mix of classic and new hits that kept the dance floor packed all night long. At the end of the night, the couple was whisked away in a horse drawn carriage. The weekend was truly fit for a king and queen, and we wish Mark and Ivy nothing but well wishes and happiness ahead!

Transforming a venue is probably one of our favorite parts of the job.

This year’s theme for the Starlight Ball was under the big top.  To create a circus tent indoors we started with the color palette of a classic carnival -- circus tent red, black, and white.  We then added oversized red draping to the entrance and plenty of smaller tents inside that each housed its own individual game venue.  There was even a fortune teller giving readings!

The night began with rock candy martinis garnished with sticks of the colorful candy.  With drinks in hand, guests were greeted by our very own ring master dressed up in full costume.  Once inside, circus performers dazzled and amazed with hula hoop tricks, stilt walking, and even an aerial acrobatics show.   Afterwards, guests headed to the game tables to test their luck at plinko, bottle toss, mallet smash, spin the wheel and more.  In between the fun, guests had the opportunity to sample the food from the buffets featuring elevated fair classics like gyros, waffle fries, and plenty of candy.  There was even a candy station to allow guests to take home a treat, or two. As the night came to a close guests moved onto the dance floor where the DJ was perched above to keep the party going and everyone dancing.

It was an honor to be a part of this wonderful fundraising event which helped raise donations for the Children's Hospital Foundation.  We hope you enjoyed this look at the party as much as we did creating the event!

    elegant and rustic wedding ideas

It’s a special experience as a wedding stylist to form relationships with families and play such an important role in their lives. It’s not just about planning a party or wedding; it’s about making lasting memories and the joining of two people, and two families, as one.

Lisa and Mark have three beautiful children – Mark, Maggie and Matthew. Eventures has had the absolute pleasure of coordinating and styling all three Pierce children weddings, first with Maggie in 2013, second with Matthew in January of this year and finally with Mark this past June.

When we met with Mark and Ivy in May of last year to begin planning their special day, we knew it was going to be a fun process. The couple decided on a destination wedding in Ivy’s hometown, Fort Worth. Ivy is an interior designer and has been dreaming of her wedding day all her life. Her inspiration photos showcased her classic taste and vision. From site visits and tastings in Fort Worth to brainstorming and finalizing the details back home in Oklahoma City, we loved planning Mark and Ivy’s nuptials!.

When the wedding weekend finally arrived, family and guests made their way across the border for the celebration. The night before the wedding on June 19, the couple enjoyed a beautiful Rehearsal Dinner at River Ranch in the Fort Worth Stockyards hosted by the Pierce family. The western venue paired well with the romantic rustic décor and lush florals brought in for the occasion. Mark is an avid hunter so it only seemed fitting that dinner took place in the Trophy Room.

Guests enjoyed a delicious meal of Elk Loin and Quail, prepared on site by Chef Tim Love D’s Lonesome Dove Catering. The bride and groom as well as their siblings enjoyed dinner at specialty wooden grove tables and gold velvet banquettes. Soft amber lighting created the perfect atmosphere for the lovely evening of toasts and well wishes.

The Rehearsal Dinner was such a beautiful way to start the Poye-Pierce wedding weekend. We can’t wait to share the Wedding and Reception festivities with you next week!

When planning a huge surprise party you're going to want to pull out all the stops.  You want the guest of honor not only to be surprised that you threw a party just for them, but also with the decor.  So what do you do when trying to plan a party for the ultimate party designer?  You look to the stars!

The Emmy's is one of the glitziest nights on TV and we're not just talking about the gowns.  After the award show ends, celebrities head off to the glamorous Governor's Ball where they party the night away.  For this year's event, more than 45,000 Swarovski crystals were used to decorate along with the most gorgeous shimmering champagne linens.  We knew we had to have them for our queen!

Immediately after serving some of Hollywood’s most famous stars, the linens joined us in celebrating our favorite star!  We used them to set the tables as we all said Cheers to 21 Years of Eventures, along with celebrating Mary Ellen's birthday.  We'll be sharing photos of the party soon but until then enjoy this look at the linens from the 2015 Governors Ball.
