  • Mood Board Monday ~ backing up the backdrop

    It's all about the backdrop...

Think about when you're at dinner -- soft lighting, romantic music, and a beautiful backdrop make all the difference in the world. For an upcoming event we're focusing on the backdrop.  Reflective, textured, or rich looking, all the touches will add to the evening's experience.

In this case, opulence doesn't mean overdoing it.

  • Mood Board Monday ~ metallic, mirrored, and magical

Even though Christmas is eight months away, it's our job to start planning for it.  Red and green may be the traditional Xmas theme, but we enjoy the challenge of creating something more original.  While planning this year's showstopper we were inspired by these multifaceted Christmas displays.

We're dreaming of a metallic, mirrored, and magical Christmas!

  • Mood Board Monday ~ Beautiful and Bejeweled

“I adore wearing gems, but not because they are mine. You can't possess radiance, you can only admire it.”  -- Elizabeth Taylor

Elizabeth Taylor was known for her beauty, her men, and her impressive collection of jewelry.  Like most women she adored jewelry and had some of the most famous pieces in the world.  We're crazy for jewels as well, and we don't just wear them...  we style with them!  This week's mood board showed off a bejeweled new look that we've been working on.

We're pretty sure these mirrored touches along with agates and other stones will make any event sure to shine.

  • Runway to Tabletop ~ Construction Chic

Fashion doesn't have to be so serious.  Some brands enjoy having a good laugh over the ridiculousness of runway shows and Moschino is one of them.  Their latest collection took polar opposites Ronald McDonald and Coco Chanel and combined them for a mix of cheeky chic.

When faced with a construction theme we knew we could do better than caution tape and orange vests.   We took the standard equipment from job sites (scaffolding, orange cones, ladders) and blended them with girly pink hard hats and elegant black and white striped linens.  Lunch pails were placed in front of every seat, along with Twinkies and other typical lunch time treats.  Even the centerpieces were in on the joke -- we took pink and purple toy dump trucks surrounded them with cheerful gerbera daisies!

We love mixing the ordinary with the extraordinary -- who else could make construction equipment so chic?!

  • Thunder Up

As our Oklahoma City Thunder players head into game five tomorrow, we just can’t help ourselves but be inspired by the hues used by our favorite NBA team! To create a look even Rumble would adore, we joined blue and orange linens, and added a splash of bright blue with an industrial inspired light-up bar. For a more formal affair, the lux look of blue satin is complemented perfectly by our favorite chair – the Chameleon. Whether your inspiration comes from the ballroom or the arena, we would love to be part of your next event!
